Jub Jub Firearm Case Postponed To 17 September
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s firearm-related case has been postponed to September 17 following his brief appearance at the Germiston Magistrates’ Court.
Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s firearm-related case has been postponed to September 17.
Maarohanye made a brief appearance at the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on Monday after failing to attend an earlier court hearing.
He faces charges of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence and pointing an object capable of causing someone to believe it was a real firearm.
The charges relate to an alleged confrontation involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale on June 14.
According to the allegations, an object resembling a firearm was used during the incident. Maarohanye has denied the allegations and described the charges as fabricated.
Warrant Of Arrest Issued
A warrant of arrest was previously issued following Maarohanye’s failure to appear in court, although it was held over until Monday.
He subsequently appeared at the Germiston Magistrates’ Court, where the matter was postponed to September 17.

The case remains before the court as the allegations against Maarohanye are yet to be tested through trial proceedings.
Pellet Gun Seized During Investigation
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said a pellet gun was seized from Maarohanye’s home during the investigation.
The seizure forms part of the evidence linked to the firearm-related charges, although the possession of the pellet gun does not by itself establish that Maarohanye committed the offences with which he has been charged.
The charges centre on allegations that an object was used during the Edenvale confrontation in a manner that could have led the complainant to believe it was a real firearm.

Maarohanye remains out on R5,000 bail while the case proceeds.
The allegations against him have not been proven in court, and he is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.
