Two Seriously Injured In N3 Crash Near Vosloorus

Two people were seriously injured when two vehicles collided and rolled on the N3 near Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni on Sunday morning.

The crash involved a Renault Clio and a Toyota Avanza and occurred shortly before the Barry Marais off-ramp.

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Millicent Kekana said preliminary information indicated that both vehicles were travelling southbound when they collided.

The drivers apparently lost control of the vehicles, which rolled before coming to a stop on the N3 northbound carriageway.

Two People Sustain Serious Injuries

Kekana said two people sustained serious injuries in the crash, while other occupants suffered minor injuries.

The injured were transported to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital for further medical treatment.

The circumstances leading to the collision were not immediately clear.

N3 Northbound Traffic Affected

Both northbound lanes were affected by the crash, with motorists being directed onto the shoulder lane to pass the scene.

The Ekurhuleni metro police freeway unit and City of Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services were deployed to manage the scene.

Authorities urged motorists approaching the area to reduce their speed and exercise caution.

Drivers were also advised to remain alert for pedestrians who may attempt to cross the freeway while emergency services continue working at the scene.

Motorists travelling through the area should expect disruption until the affected lanes are cleared.
