Meta Muse AI Agent Gets Digital Avatar, Smart Glasses Support, Mac Control, And Shopping Tools

Meta is wasting little time expanding Muse, its personal AI agent launched in September 2026. During the company’s annual Connect event in Menlo Park on September 23, CEO Mark Zuckerberg outlined a series of new features designed to bring Muse into more parts of users’ digital lives.

Muse is built to work across devices and connected services, including email and calendars, while handling tasks on a user’s behalf. The agent is powered by Meta’s Muse Spark AI model, which the company developed for multimodal and agentic workloads. Meta says Muse can continue working on tasks after users leave the app and return when it needs approval or when the work is complete.

“The centerpiece of our vision for what we’re building is Muse,” Zuckerberg said as he kicked off a keynote donning khakis and a black T-shirt with the words “Building is My love Language” emblazoned across the front. “In the coming years, I expect that Muse is going to grow into the personal superintelligence that billions of people around the world are going to use to accomplish their goals and improve their lives.”

Zuckerberg also said Meta plans to eventually generate revenue from transactions handled through Muse.

“We’re standing behind this by making Muse free for a huge number of tokens, with the expectation that over time we will profit by taking a small fee from transactions,” he said.

Meta Muse Gets A Real-Time Digital Avatar

One of the headline additions announced at Connect is a digital avatar for Muse. Meta says users will eventually be able to create a distinct avatar for their personal agent and interact with it through real-time video conversations.

The feature is powered by a new model called Muse Realtime Avatar. Rather than communicating with an entirely text- or voice-based assistant, users will be able to interact with an on-screen representation that has a face, body, and voice.

The avatar was demonstrated during Meta’s Connect presentation, where the company showed how users could hold live conversations with their agent, ask questions, and assign tasks.

Meta Muse Is Coming To AI-Powered Smart Glasses

Meta is also bringing Muse to its AI glasses, expanding the agent beyond phones and computers. The company announced that users will be able to communicate with Muse through their glasses using a wake word.

According to Meta, Muse will be able to assist with tasks such as creating personalized workout guidance, logging meals, booking appointments, and helping users purchase products they see. The agent can continue working in the background and check back with the user after completing a task.

Meta said the Muse integration for its glasses is expected to arrive in the coming months.

Meta Muse Will Be Able To Operate Apps On A Mac

Meta is also expanding Muse’s ability to perform computer-based tasks. The company said Muse will come to Mac and allow users to delegate work that involves operating applications on their desktop.

The system is designed to interact with apps directly, enabling users to assign tasks and leave Muse to work through them.

“You can have it help you run your small business, or just get work done for you,” Meta’s chief AI officer Alexandr Wang said Wednesday during the keynote. “You can walk away from your computer and it keeps working for you on all the jobs you lined up.”

Meta’s approach puts Muse alongside other emerging AI agents that can take actions inside desktop environments rather than simply responding to prompts.

Muse Is Getting An Email Address And More Shopping Tools

Meta also revealed that Muse will eventually have its own email address. Wang said the feature is coming “soon,” although Meta did not provide a specific launch date.

Users will be able to add Muse to email conversations or forward messages to the agent so it can handle tasks on their behalf.

Shopping is another major focus for the expanding agent. Meta has announced integrations involving Shopify and Stripe, while its Link payment system enables Muse to complete eligible purchases without exposing a user’s real card details. Meta has also said Shop Pay support is coming.

At Connect, Meta highlighted additional retail partnerships involving Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfair. Muse is also set to connect with services including Expedia and, soon, Instacart. Other integrations announced by Meta include GitHub, Granola, and Notion.

Meta is also opening the platform to outside developers. The company recently introduced support for developers to create their own connectors, with Wang saying Meta received more than 1,500 applications in less than a week.

“I think this could be a generational opportunity to start building for a new platform as it takes off, and the response so far has been really great.”

With Muse now expanding across glasses, computers, email, shopping services, and third-party applications, Meta is rapidly turning its personal AI agent into a system designed to operate across much of a user’s digital workflow.
